The rotations are devised annually
by the deanery and by one of the PCME’s. Owing to PMETB
regulations there is very little room for manoevre when working
these out. Please bear with us – we do try and make
sure that your rotations are as balanced as possible! Unfortunately,
posts done in foundation programmes are not taken into account
by PMETB for GP training, so you may find that you repeat
a post that you did as an FY1 or 2. You will do 4/12 of General
practice in ST 1 and 2, then 12 months in ST3, giving you
20 months of General practice experience in your 3 years.
The remaining 16 months will be in hospital posts, each of
which is for 4/12. If you have any queries about your rotation
please contact Carole Gerrard in the first instance.
The hospital consultants and the
GP trainers are aware that you are required to attend the
half day release. If you are having difficulty getting to
the sessions then please discuss this with a PCME. |
